Q: WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?

I come from a fairly nomadic background, but i lived in Metaline Falls for about 8 years. I moved there at 14 years old and attended high school at Selkirk.

Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED FOR KALISPEL TRIBE?

I began working for the Kalispel Tribe during the summer of 2011.

Q: WHAT DEPARTMENT DO YOU WORK IN AND WHAT DOES YOUR WORKDAY LOOK LIKE?

I work in forestry. My workdays are as variable as the seasons. On any given workday you might find me responding to email, checking on progress and work quality of field crews assigned to treat precommercial thinning and fuels reduction projects on the reservation, or perhaps hosting a facilitated tree climbing event at one of our “training trees,” located at the Indian Creek Community Forest.

Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WORKING FOR KALISPEL TRIBE?

One of my favorite things about working for the Kalispel Tribe is the emphasis on family, and consequently the sense of inclusion I feel here, and how that philosophy directly improves the quality time I get to spend with my own family at home.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE HOBBIES?

I enjoy collecting fungi, cooking, and gardening the most.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE EVENT THAT THE KALISPEL Tribe PUTS ON?

My favorite event put on by the Tribe used to be Culture Week. That was the first time I had ever tasted camas and black moss, but unfortunately this event has been discontinued. Now the Powwow is my favorite event.
